Non return valve working principle

A check valve , clack valve , non - return valve , reflux valve , retention valve or one-way valve is a valve that normally allows fluid (liquid or gas) to flow through it in only one direction.

A non - return valve allows a medium to flow in only one direction. The flow through the non - return valve causes a relatively large pressure drop, which has to be taken into account when designing the system. There are different types of non - return valves, such as spring-loade swing type, and clapper type valves. The following pics are from a non return valve removed from a water geyser. Basically, I know that this device allows water to flow in only one direction.

So, let me explain my confusion. Such type of valve will permit the flow in one direction and will not permit the flow from other side and therefore check valves also termed as non return valves because such valves will not permit the return flow. Check valves are widely used in hydraulic units.

The Alfa Laval LKC-non - return valve consists of an upper valve body, lower valve body, valve plug, seal ring, and guide disc. The valve body is assembled by means of a clamp and hygienically sealed with a special seal ring. A guide disc and four legs guide the spring-loaded valve plug with an O-ring seal. Usually used in water pipework systems and installed immediately after the pump. The most common check valve is the disc type (horizontal or vertical).

When flow is sufficient the disc is pushed out. Non Return Valve is a one way valve mainly used to restrict the flow of a fluid in reverse direction so that a fluid flow in a right direction. Non return scenario The pump has no back-flow prevention and therefore product will flow back through it once it has stopped. A non return valve (NRV) is therefore usually placed after the outlet of the pump. A reservoir is used to take the pumps output when there is no process demand.

The subsequent are some normally used kinds of check valves. In swing check valves, the disc is unguided once it moves to completely open position or to completely closed position. Piloted non - return valves are designed to protect installations. When the compressed air supply is remove the non - return valves will lock the air supply to the cylinder. As a result, the cylinder will maintain its position.

It consist of a non - return valve , water inlet pipe, outlet pipe, spindle, wheel and gland as shown in figure.

Stop check valves are vital to several industries to protect boilers and other equipment. Globe disc These valves are a modified version of the standard globe stop valve , which has the valve stem permanently affixed to the globe disc. Working Principle of Rotary Vane Pump. The outlet of the pump consists of a non-return valve.

A prime mover motor, coupled with the shaft, rotates the rotor. As per the model, shown in our figure, we need to rotate the rotor anticlockwise to demonstrate the working principle of a rotary vane pump.
