Choke valve wellhead

The choke valve is a desirable product extensively applied to wellheads , manifold production, choke and kill manifolds, wellhead tests and other operations. It is a standardized throttle with multi-stage pressure cut-off and base, especially suitable for straddle-type erosive and corrosive working conditions. Another purpose that the choke valves serve is to kill the pressure from reservoir and to regulate the downstream pressure in the flowlines. Most wellhead chokes and valves imported from eastern Asia were purchased without a reliable source of replacement parts. To control the flow in the pipes.

It has a handwheel, which can be operated to get desired fluid discharge.

To regulate the reservoir pressure in the pipes. Bryan Sauer - Closed Loop Choke Valve - DEMO. Emerson is where technology and engineering come together to create solutions for the benefit of our customers, driven without compromise for a world in action. From the beginning, the DHV name has become associated with quality in every step of our manufacturing process.

Types and purpose are discussed further. When the blowout preventer is shut down, the choke valve is utilized for controlling the casing pressure to maintain that the pressure of well bottom is always higher than that of the groun and thereby to prevent the formation fluid from flowing into the well. Choke Valve Sizing App Install the SizeFlo app on your mobile device and calculate valve capacity, flow rate, pressure drop and more. Available for Apple, Android and BlackBerry.

What is a wellhead choke used for?

Manufactured in cast or forged materials we can deliver engineered assemblies within the shortest achievable lead time. The two lower valves are called respectively lower master valve and upper master valve. During normal production, the lower master valve is kept open while the upper master valve is used to place the well in safe conditions and is often hydraulically or pneumatically.

Wellhead Valves are available from the EDMUND VALVE COMPANY. Choke Valves have a maximum orifice size of 1” while 3” Choke Valves have a maximum orifice size of 2”. Adjustable Choke Valves use a stem and seat combination to control the flow rate. Hence the choke valves are usually designed to handle an erosive service.

Typically oil and gas producing wells have two choke valves in series, one non-regulating choke valve and one regulating choke valve downstream to the non-regulating choke valve. The 100DPC-S reduces the erosion rates seen early in the high pressure well life or after start-ups, and increases the time between maintenance intervals, giving long term reliable service. A good practice would require a combined evaluation of HIPPS and Chokes in order to optimize process and sizing of the systems. Choke valves need to control the flow on top of the wellhead. As Figure shows, there are five valves : the kill wing valve , swab valve , production wing valve , upper master valve and lower master valve.

When the operator, well and facilities are ready to produce and receive oil or gas, valves are opened and the released formation fluids are allowed to flow into and through a pipeline. Choke Valves are severe service valves which are designed specifically for oil and gas wellhead applications, both in a surface and subsurface context. They are used for controlling the flow on production, reinjection and subsurface wellheads.

Positive In-Line Valves - Choke Valve Series. The fixed bean design allows easy bean replacement without having to remove the valve body from the flow line. The surface pressure control is provided by a Christmas tree, which is installed on top of the wellhead , with isolation valves and choke equipment to control the flow of well fluids during production.
