Pig signaller

How do you butcher a hog? The pig signaller is used to indicate the pig has left the Launcher, arrived in a receiver or passed a certain point in the pipeline. PIPELINE PIG SIGNALLER (FASIN Pass Indicator) The ball pass indicator, which is used to determine whether the pigging passes or arrives, is usually placed at the transmitter and receiver ends of the boiler and is placed in the key position on the pipe line.

Pig Signals are devices which detect the passage of a pig and then inform the operators about this passage at crucial points of the pipeline. Pig signals are located at the pig launching, pig receiving and other critical points along the pipeline.

EMA is not designing and manufacturing pig systems only, but also providing pigging tools as well. EMA p ig signallers are used to provide confirmation of the movement of pigs through a pipeline. They are normally positioned at both the pig launching and pig receiving stations and at key points along a pipeline. Non-Intrusive Pig Signallers.

All topside signallers are ATEX certified allowing for installation in hazardous Zone areas such as on platforms and in refineries. The Hi-T Magalert can be used for both offshore and onshore installations. Events are signalled as they occur via a graphical display and high brightness LEDs positioned around the perimeter of the display.

A pig was once accidentally shot out of the end of a pipeline without a proper pig receiver and went through the side of a house 5feet away. When the product is sour, the barrel should be evacuated to a flare system where the sour gas is burnt. Pig signallers detect, signal and log the passage of pigs at critical points along a pipeline. Pipetech offers a selection of both intrusive and non-intrusive pig signallers.

Non-intrusive pig signallers have the advantage of being easy to install and easy to use. The range of our Intrusive Pig Signalers Can be fitted to all sizes from 6″ to 56″ and can be used to detect all type of pigs, from Mandrel to Foam, Sphere and Intelligent Inspection tools. Pipe schedules other than standard and XH are considered build-to-order and must be ordered through your local NOV representative.

NPIPE PRODUCTSTM design and manufacture a unique and comprehensive range of patented and proven intrusive pig signallers in a range of materials and configurations to ensure complete reliability and trouble-free operation with a design life of over years. This range has been designed to overcome limitations in earlier types of pig signalling equipment. Scraper passage indicators, or pig signallers as they are often calle are installed onto launcher and receiver units to confirm the launch or arrival of a pig. They can also be installed at any point on the pipeline to indicate that the pig has passed a specific point or pipeline feature. The GD Engineering product range comprises closures, pig signallers and multiple pig launchers, suited for the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industrires.

There are two types of pig signallers depending on the detecting mechanisIntrusive and non-intrusive type.

However, this requires a physical opening in the pipeline or a flanged 2-inch branch connection. The most commonly used type is the mechanical intrusive signaller type. The trigger is operated by a non-orientation sensitive (omni directional) trigger mechanism.

Fittings are available to enable the pig signaller to replace any obsolete or unserviceable signaller previously installed on an existing pipeline. The patented pigPRO Indicator is an intrusive pig signaller designed to accurately detect the passage of a pipeline cleaner travelling within a pipeline system. EMT make pig detection simpler and more effective: EMTrsquo;s range of intrusive pig signallers are detector instruments mounted on pig launcher and receiver stations to confirm the launch or arrival of a pig.
