Different types of water pollution

What are the four types of pollution? What is the most common type of water pollution? Here are a few types of water pollution: 1. Surface water pollution. This type of pollution is becoming more and more relevant.

Microbiological pollution is the natural form of water.

When the source of water pollution is a single point, for example an oil spill, it is called point-source water pollution. Oil spills , a well-known term by this age,. Ever since the industrial age, chemical water pollution is one.

Plants, whether on land or water, depends on nutrients such as nitrogen,. Radiation from nuclear waste is trans-boundary pollution. Everyone has heard the term pollution constantly – either in school or documentaries or random pamphlets.

It occurs when foreign harmful materials like chemicals, waste matter, or contaminated substances are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies. Water bodies include for example lakes , rivers , oceans , aquifers and groundwater.

Water pollution when contaminants are introduced into the natural environment. For example, releasing inadequately treated wastewater into natural water bodies can lead to degradation of aquatic ecosystems. Not only is the agricultural sector the biggest consumer of global freshwater. Used water is wastewater.

Big spills may dominate headlines, but consumers account for the vast majority. The main source of this pollution is human activities and few may be natural like emission of natural gases and chemicals. A major source of air pollution from the burning of fossil fuels. Vehicle and factory emissions are common sources of this type of air pollution. Many types of microorganisms live in water and cause fish, land animals and humans to become ill.

Microorganisms such as: Bacteria Viruses Protozoa Serious diseases. According to the Minnesota Center for Environmental Recovery, common types of water pollutants include mercury, nitrates, phosphorous, fecal coliform and bacterial pollution. It gets polluted when harmful substances enter the water bodies or seep down the water table. Air pollution means the presence of pollutants in the atmosphere is such. Soil pollution mainly occurs through agricultural chemicals.

Water Pollution : Water is one of the basic necessities of life. Land can become polluted by household garbage and by industrial waste. There are also two different ways in which pollution can occur.

If pollution comes from a single location, such as a discharge pipe attached to a factory, it is known as point-source pollution.
