Rikki - Tikki - Tavi is a story that could be told to many over the generations. Her eggs were in the melon garden. But the foolish Darzee refused to help Rikki get rid of the cobra’s eggs. Rikki-tikki-tavi Darzee told Rikki that Nagaina was by the trash heap, crying over Nag’s body.
Darzee didn’t think it was fair to destroy eggs. A Darzee’s wife had more common sense. She didn’t want young cobras around. A mongoose is similar to a weasel,. He finds out that two cobras, Nag and his wife Nagaina, are planning to kill the two adults and their young son Teddy.
The clever mongoose decides to protect them and to take on the dangerous snakes. It was first published in Pall Mall Magazine in the United Kingdom and in St. Rikki is grateful and loyal to his saviors but soon he finds out that they are in danger because of the upcoming cobra invasion. Rikki Tikki Tavi almost died in a flood and Teddy’s family takes care of him.
In it, the warrior mongoose Rikki - tikki matches himself in a mythic battle against the devilish cobras Nag and Nagaina in the back yard of an Indian bungalow. There was no answer from outside, so Rikki - tikki knew Nagaina had gone away.
