How Do HVAC Systems Work? What are the working conditions for HVAC? What is HVAC system and how does it work? The heating , ventilation and air conditioning ( HVAC ) system of any building is like the respiratory system of a human being.


It controls the movement, quality and temperature of air to ventilate, warm and cool the organism. Energy is consumed by the parts of the system that heat and cool the air and movement of air with fans requires energy.

It has components both in and outside of the home. Generally, it contains an air conditioner designed to cool refrigerant outside of your house, and a furnace with a fan or coil inside the house. If you get a high-quality system , you’re never going to feel uncomfortable at the height of summer or in the dead of winter. So how does one of these systems work ? The fan sucks air in via the return, draws it through a filter, then passes it into the main system to either heat or cool it.

All furnaces consist of four main components: 1) burners that deliver and burn fuel, 2) heat exchangers, 3) a blower and 4) a flue that acts as an exhaust for gaseous by-products.

A typical central air conditioning system is a two-part or split system that includes: The outdoor unit contains the condenser coil, compressor, electrical components and a fan. The evaporator coil, which is usually installed on top of the gas furnace inside the home. All climate-control devices or systems have three basic components: a source of warmed or cooled air, a means of distributing the air to the rooms being heated or coole and a control used to regulate the system (e.g., thermostat). Central heating and cooling systems are separate things, but they are matched to work together. HVAC is an acronym for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. This is both a building system designed to keep the environment comfortable for building occupants and the industry that supports these systems.


Without it, heat will not be able to move out from the system and bring cooling comfort to everyone in the passenger compartment. Hot, outside air is blown over the refrigerant vapor by the condenser to liquefy it. The expansion valve changes refrigerant into a low-pressure liqui thus cooling it.


Heat is transferred by the evaporator to transform the cool liquid to a warmer gas. No matter how big your building,.

A good HVAC system aims to provide thermal control and indoor comfort, and one that is designed using the principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. The big air conditioner boxes that you might see on top of apartment blocks or offices are examples of (the visible part of) HVAC systems. These fins work like the radiator on a vehicle, and they help dissipate heat more quickly.


When the fluid leaves the condenser, it is much cooler. It’s also changed from a gas to liquid because of the high pressure. The refrigerant reaches the condenser as a hot gas, but quickly becomes a cooler liquid because the heat of the ‘hot gas’ is dissipated to the surroundings through metal fins.


So, as the refrigerant leaves the condenser, it loses its heat and becomes a cooler liquid. All heating and cooling units burn fuel. Air conditioners use electricity.


In summer it extracts heat from the air inside your home. Heating units can be categorized into furnaces that provide heated air through ductwork, which is a popular type of heating system in the United States such as boilers that heat water for steam radiators or forced-water systems with baseboard radiators, electric heat and heat pumps.
