Flame arrester

What is a flame or flashback arrestor? Why to use a flame arrester? How do I clean flame arrestor? Flame arresters are used: to stop the spread of an open fire.

Most flame arresters fall into two major categories: End of line, vent to atmosphere arresters – to prevent an atmospheric fire or explosion from entering an enclosure.

In-Line – to prevent the propagation an explosion within a pipeline. There is an enormous variety of situations in which flame arresters are applied. FLAME ARRESTERS - AN EXPLOSIVE SITUATION. Existing flame arrester standards were clearly inadequate for in-line applications.

Improper arrester selection and application lead to storage tank and processing unit explosions. Without an arrester designed and tested to meet the levels of protection require the potential for a major disaster is high. We develop individual solutions tailored to meet specific customer requirements.

Flame Arresters , Valves and Tank Equipment.

In normal operation, vapor mixture in the pipe are directed through the flame arrestor. Explosions due to flame arrester failures are destructive, expensive and potentially deadly. They prevent the propagation of flame from the exposed side of the unit to the protected side by the use of wound crimped metal ribbon type flame cell element.

End-of-line Deflagration Arrestors. A majority of the time, a “vent to atmosphere’’ pressure, vacuum valve is installed on top of the flame arrester. Our products stand for quality and safety. A flame arrester is also used as in-line safety device.

We deliver flame arresters , end of line flame arresters , flame arrester endurance burning. Get it as soon as Tue, Dec 24. In-line deflagration type. These throttle bodies should have three bolts mounting them to the intake manifold. It is ideal for protecting liquid storage tanks containing NEC Group D (IEC Class IIA) gases with a Maximum Experimental Safe Gap (MESG) equal to or greater than 0. A detonation flame arrester (also spelled arrestor ) is a device fitted to the opening of an enclosure or to the connecting pipe work of a system of enclosures and whose intended function is to allow flow but prevent the transmission of flame propagating at supersonic velocity.

These requirements cover tank vent deflagration flame arresters and in-line detonation flame arresters. The requirements for tank vent deflagration flame arresters cover arresters for use on vents of storage tanks for petroleum oil and gasoline. If the vented vapors are ignite for example by lightning, the flame arrester will prevent the flame from spreading from the outside atmosphere to the inside of the vessel.

Mount an arrester to your vent pipe to stop flames from traveling back into your tank.

If the ambient temperature reaches 165° F, the fusible links melt, and the cover closes to block flames from the arrester. To reuse the arrester, replace the fusible links (sold separately). For technical drawings and 3-D models, click on a part number.

All flame arresters have the same working principle: removing heat from the flame as it attempts to travel through narrow passages with walls of metal or other heat-conductive material. The flame arresters are passive devices that prevent the propagation of flame from the exposed side of a pipe to the protected side by the use of a wound crimped metal ribbon type flame cell element. This construction produces a series of uniform openings that are carefully constructed to quench the flame by absorbing the heat of the flame. The flame arrester provides a protection barrier that deters a flame generated from a source outside of the tank from flashing through the vent into the vapor space of the tank.

Explosion prevention and containment are prime considerations in all combustible mixture processing or vent line applications. Pneumatic Products manufactures a full line of flame arresters for Class C and D gases. It Features a Polished Billet Aluminum Housing and a KN Air Filter.
